A Little Hallowe'en Project: Mimi and Mildred

Phoebe and I spent a happy morning creating this curious duo, inspired by traditional German spun-cotton ornaments. We didn't really have the right materials- the traditional figurines are bound with cotton batting- so we had to improvise somewhat with black chenille. Phoebe made the little pumpkin using 'Wiki Sticks', and stitched the crepe-paper skirt for the witch. She was exceptionally proud of herself.

Melplash Agricultural Show

'Professor Crump' and his gravity-defying flower. "It doesn't get any bigger than that" he chortled.

This obedient little fellow was clearly relishing his photo shoot: the blonde lady on the right was an extremely adept wrangler, and her subject was mesmerised by seemingly endless flourishes of toy pheasant.

And finally ( possibly my favourite competition ever) the contest for the best fruit and veg animal!

Bertie Bunny

Bertie Bunny is the first of a new range of fabric taxidermy heads which I'm creating specifically for children's rooms.
